Plastic now supports Unity ID with two-factor authentication

We just released Unity ID support through OAuth. Now, you can strengthen the security of your Plastic Cloud organization by asking users to login using Unity Id with two-factor authentication.

Two-factor authentication available starting with version 9.0.16.5201.

How to get started

1. First, click on Sign in with Unity ID. You will then be redirected to your unity.com login page.
2. Meanwhile, the GUI will wait for you to complete the process, as follows:
   
3. Enter your credentials in unity.com:
   

And, voilà! You are now into both plasticscm.com and the desktop using OAuth! No more passwords!

Two-factor authentication

Full Unity ID support comes with two-factor authentication, which is a great benefit to improve security:

You just need to enable it to secure your logins to Plastic SCM.

What if you were using user/password and want to switch to Unity ID?

Right now, the best you can do is:

1. Remember to upgrade to the latest version.
2. Open a command prompt:
   • Windows: type plastic --configure
   • Linux: type gtkplastic --configure
   • macOS: type macplastic --configure

And the new login dialog will show up and you will be able to use Unity ID.

Remember to register in unity.com with the same email you were using in Plastic, otherwise you'll need to invite this new email/user to the organization.

Didn't you have Unity ID support previously?

Yes, we added support to Unity ID but using an older user/password based API which is not as greatly integrated as this new OAuth approach, so we are deprecating it:
