What’s happening in Labs
Today I’m glad to announce two important features requested by users in our User Voice that are available now in our Labs section:
Both have been requested by lots of people, so I think that they worthed their own post. Take into account that these features are only available in our Labs downloads section, release 4.2.37.455.
Editable Diffs
Take into account that the right textbox is only editable when the right revision is the workspace revision and it's checked out.
You can undo changes in the file by clicking on the "X" provided in the left margin or redo deleted content by clicking on the ">>" symbols in the right margin of the left textbox.
You can even add new changes:
And save them afterwards.
Finally, notice that you can discard the latest changes done that haven’t been saved.
Coloured changesets by user in the Branch Explorer
Now you can paint the changesets in your Branch Explorer in different colours, depending on the user who created them.
To do that, open your Branch Explorer, click on the “Options” pane and select the “Changeset colors – Users” tab. Then, click on “Add…” and select the user you want to add to your Branch Explorer:
Click on “OK” and that’s it! Now you can identify the user’s changesets. In addition to this you can add a picture to the user by clicking on his avatar:
And that’s it. If combined with the “Changeset colors – Replication sources” feature, then the users are painted filling just a small region of the changeset, like this:
Enjoy!!
That looks fantastic! I'd love to see the ability to ignore changes in that diff window as well. Sometimes when you checkin you end up having to remove a line for the checkin, only to have to add it back in when you're done. I imagine there would be some complexities around saving the state of ignored diffs. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I've never commented on here before, so I just want to let you know how much I think you all rock! Your tools are the best I have ever used, hands down, no competition.

Hi!
ReplyDeleteWe do really appreciate your comments!
Please keep posting and sharing our materials!
We'll work on a solution for the editable diffs inside the file, it is one of the things we've on the table... :-)
Remember you can suggest it on our UserVoice http://plasticscm.uservoice.com/forums/15467-general
